Japan 2015: Nijo Castle

Nijo Castle on a slightly rainy day
Nijo Castle, a World Heritage landmark, was the second leg of the walking tour with the university gals of the Good Samaritan Club.

Inside the Castle, one walks on wooden 'nightingale' floors which made the floors squeak as assassins came inside.  Numerous waiting rooms are decorated differently according to the visitors' rank. There are great wall paintings and amazing ceiling decors.  The gardens surrounding the palace are beautifully landscaped which are very zen and peaceful.

A very relaxing place
