I won a shirt from one of marketmanila.com's mini raffle contests!  I joined for fun and wasn't really expecting to win.  So it was a very pleasant surprise to see my name as one of the two winners.  Wore a silly grin for a few minutes after I read that  =) 

Reena turns 7

For Reena's 7th birthday, we had lunch at Ferringhi Garden at Batu Ferringhi.  

We were a bit disappointed as they only had a smaller portion of the restaurant open for lunch.  The rest of the restaurant opens for dinner only.  The whole place is really nice with all the flower garden and big pots with small fishes and a few tadpoles.  For the lunch crowd, the menu was also trimmed down.But it was too late to go to another place, everyone was hungry at almost 2pm!  So we stayed.  The good side of the coin was we were the only customers that day so we had the place to ourselves.  

After ordering, Reena and Sarah toured the smallish garden while I snapped their photos.  Food we ordered were chicken pizza, club sandwiches, burgers and fresh fruit juices.  Food was good but on the pricey side.

At home, we celebrated with Baskin Robbins' cookies and cream ice cream cake. And gifts galore for the birthday girl! 

Happy 7th birthday Reena.  Continue to be a good girl, we love you!

Anya's birthday party

We attended Anya's birthday at E&O Hotel's Sarkies Corner last Feb. 21 (Saturday).   Suresh, Ravi's Intel PDC friend, and Ageela invited all of us for their daughter's 1st birthday party.  Reena and Sarah enjoyed walking and running along the hotel grounds.  We stayed pretty late, with both Reena and Sarah very sleepy.

There was birthday party that we had to attend one night and I was trying the SLR's different settings.  Of course, got my reliable model to 'pose' for me.  Here's what came out of it.

Double celebration

Sarah's 1st birthday and our 4th wedding anniversary were right next to each other, Jan 17 and 18 respectively.  We decided to have a staycation weekend at Hard Rock Hotel Penang last Jan. 21-23 instead of traveling further away.  It's quite difficult to take long drives with a toddler in the car.

Reena joined us only on the second night.  She spent time with her cousins on our first day at HRH.

At the lobby entrance, one has to look up to see this.  It changes colors from red to purple to blue and green.  We will definitely be back Hard Rock Hotel!

On her own..

March 3 (Saturday), ~8:30pm. Sarah. finally. walked. on. her. own.  Hurray!!!
Walking milestone: 13 and 1/2 months old.

I was busy chatting with my family in our room while Sarah was cruising along the bed.
I kept asking her to come near so my family can see her on the video.
Then I saw her gingerly walk from the edge of the bed towards me.  I beamed and clapped!
Off she went, walking all over the house, going from room to room.  Actually it's more running than walking!  She has always been like that, even when we used to hold her hand.  She 'runs' instead of walking.

I took a couple of videos to document her walking milestone.

Too bad Ravi was not around to see her first walk.  He's in Korea for a business trip.
I sent him a sms right away; he slept earlier due to bad colds.
