The sun rises everyday
you might think.
But not for your tomorrow.
I have walked past these streets
where the trees
older than my father,
are still here,
and will be, long after I'm gone.
I only have my memories,
my child.
No footprints.
No legacy.
Nothing your grandchildren will remember.
But the universe has spoken to me.
Through it's eyes, looked at itself
and said
I am here
and you are me
For now
or forever.
Ravi.

Monkey Beach hike on the Year of the Monkey
Before the Chinese calendar changed to the Year of the Monkey, Sarah and I hiked at the Taman Negara Pulau Pinang (Penang National Park) to Monkey beach. Our hike took 1 hour and 40 minutes. I was proud of my little monkey as she didn't ask for any piggy back ride at all!
We stayed at one of the foot huts dotting the beach and ordered nasi goreng (fried rice) with egg for lunch with some cold drinks and fresh coconuts. Sarah rode a horse and played on the beach until our scheduled boat ride arrived at 4pm to pick us up.

High energy at the start :) |
First beach stopover. There's a university research center for bio-technology along this small beach. |
Another 2km to go... |
Photo shoots meant mini-rest stops too |
Almost there... |
Hello again, Monkey Beach. |
Not much crowd on a Saturday afternoon. |
Someone's had a lot of water fun! |
Foamy, gentle waves. |
Her reward - a horse ride at the beach |
At the jetty after our 10 minute boat ride back to the park entrance. |
