A simple dinner with special guest, Jovan and family

Sarah had Jovan and his family as her special guests on her birthday. Jovan and family couldn't make it on the weekend party since they have to go back to Alor Setar for Jovan's grandfather's birthday.  The two close friends enjoyed blowing the cake candles, gobbling up gelatin and fruit kebab, and playing with dog balloons I made before they arrived.  Lots of happy screams from these two!

A riot kiddie party at the apartment

We invited mostly Sarah's gang - Jacob, Yau Yau, Nishant, Barshand and Palani's kids Kritika, Sanju and Ram.  Sahad was not able to join as he was at India for a holiday while Jovan was at Alor Setar.  

Of course it was cramped having the party inside the apartment but we wanted to have it where Sarah is most comfortable.  We had to rearrange the furniture to make 'more' space.  Food was aplenty!  Penne in red mushroom sauce, roti jala (an Indian swirly bread with chicken curry dip, the hit dish!), fruit kebabs, hotdog & quail egg on stick, spring rolls, gelatin and 3 cakes!

Ravi and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at Via Pre, Penang's authentic Italian restaurant/lounge bar.  Great food, nice ambiance plus excellent partner equaled a terrific anniversary night.  Cheers to more years!!!

Welcome 2013!

A belated happy new year greetings!  Here's hoping good health to all in the year of the Snake (my year and Ravi's).

Since I got back from our short Christmas vacation (a few posts on that later on), I've been kinda busy with a few things in the coming days.  Firstly, Sarah's 2nd birthday on the 17th, our 5th year wedding anniversary on the 18th and Sarah's weekend birthday celebration on the 19th!

Start of the year and I already owe several blogposts, oh my!

Anyway, been busy preparing the birthday menu, making the DIY birthday decors and giveaways, having two playdates with Anya (succeeding weekends pa!), planning the early phase of our biggest vacation on August (excited much but cannot reveal yet!), and trying out speedminton (another post to follow).

Ravi and I agreed to invite only Sarah's friends for her birthday weekend celebration and not any of our adult friends.  It'll be a chance to meet up Sarah's friends' parents and make chit chats.
